Figure 2. Similarities to Ureaplasma Proteins

These panels depict the protein similarities of Mg, Mp, Mc, Bs, Ec, and Hi, with Uu for the S10, spc, and alpha operons. The height of the bar indicates the percentage of amino acids that are considered to be similar when each of these protein sequences is compared to the Uu protein sequence in a pair-wise alignment. A gap-weight of 3.0, and a gap length weight of 0.1 was used in the GCG program Gap for constructing the pair-wise alignments. Similarity scores are based upon the evolutionary conservation of similar amino acids in phylogenetically related proteins as calculated with the Blosum62 weight matrices.

In general, Mg and Mp proteins show greater similarity to Uu, with Mc and Bs the next most similar sequences.
